Sukhaduhkhe same kritvaa - Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 02, Verse 38

'Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita' recounts only selected verses of The Gita, which Krishna has said as it is.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 02, Verse 38
English:
Sukhaduhkhe same kritvaa laabhaalaabhau jayaajayau
Tato yuddhaaya yujyasva naivam paapamavaapsyasi
Sanskrit: 
सुखदुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ
ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि
Oriya: 
ସୁଖଦୁଃଖେ ସମେ କୃତ୍ଵା ଲାଭାଲାଭୌ ଜୟା ଜୟୌ
ତୋତୋ ଯୁଦ୍ଧାୟ ୟୁଜ୍ୟସ୍ଵ ନୈବଂ ପାପମବାପ୍ସ୍ୟସି

Selected word meaning:
sukha duhkhe - hapiness and sadness, same kritvaa - being equipoised in, laabhaa alaabhau - in gain and loss, jayaa ajayau - in victory and defeat, tatah - thereafter, yuddhaaya - for the sake of battle, yujyasva - do fight, na - never, evam - in this way, papam - sinful reaction, avaapsyasi - you will incur

Translation:
Being equipoised in hapiness and sadness, gain and loss, victory and defeat the same, engage in battle for the sake of battle, and in this way you will not incur sin.
