Aapooryamaanam achalapratishtham - Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 02, Verse70

'Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita' recounts only selected verses of The Gita, which Krishna has said as it is. If you are pressed against time to go through around 700 verses of Bahgavad Gita, then this is the right place for you. This collection of verses is brought to you after years of listening to Bhagavad Gita from different sources.

ସ ଶାନ୍ତିମ୍ ଆପ୍ନୋତି ନ କାମକାମୀ

Selected word meaning:
apooryamaanam - although always being filled, achala pratistham - steadily situated (is unaffected), samudram - the ocean, aapah - water (rivers), pravishanti - enter, yadvat - just as, tadvat - similarly, kaamah - desires of senses, yam - unto one, pravishanti - enters, sarve - all, sah - that person, shaantim - peace, aapnoti - achieves, na - not, kaama kaami - one who desires to fulfill desires of senses

Translation:
The ocean is unaffected although it is always filled by rivers from all sides. Similarly, one who is not disturbed by the incessant flow of desires of senses, can alone attain peace, and not the one strives to satisfy such desires.
