Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 02, Verse 58
English:
Yadaa samharate chaayam kurmo’ngaaneeva sarvashah
Indriyaaneendriyaarthebhyas tasya prajnyaa pratishthitaa
Sanskrit:
यदा संहरते चायं कुर्मोङ्गानीव सर्वश:
इंद्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस् तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता
Oriya:
ଯଦା ସଂହରତେ ଚାୟଂ କୁର୍ମୋଙ୍ଗାନୀବ ସର୍ବଶଃ
ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟାଣୀନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟାର୍ଥେଭ୍ୟସ୍ ତସ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠିତା
Selected word meaning:
yadaa - when, samharate - withdraws, cha - also, ayam - all these, kurmah - tortoise, angaani - limbs, iva - like, sarvashah - completely, indriyaani - senses, indriya arthebhyah - from the sense objects, tasya - his, prajnyaa - perfect knowledge, pratisthita - is established
Translation:
When one completely withdraws his senses from the sense objects, like the tortoise withdraws its limbs from all sides, then he is established in perfect knowledge
