Niyatam kuru karma tvam - Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 03, Verse 08

'Selected Verses of Bhagavad Gita' recounts only selected verses of The Gita, which Krishna has said as it is. If you are pressed against time to go through around 700 verses of Bahgavad Gita, then this is the right place for you. This collection of verses is brought to you after years of listening to Bhagavad Gita from different sources.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 03, Verse 07
English:
Niyatam kuru karma tvam karma jyaayo hyakarmanah
Shareerayaatraapi cha te na prasiddhyed akarmanah
Oriya:

Selected word meaning:
niyatam - prescribed (obligatory), kuru - do, karma - duties, tvam - you, karma - work, jyaayah - better (superier), hi - than, akarmanah - inaction, sharira - bodily, yaatra - maintenance, api - even, cha - also, te - your, na - never, prasiddhyet - possible, akarmanah - inaction

Translation:
You should perform your (obligatory) duties, for action is superior to inaction. Even the maintenance of your body would not be possible by renouncing actions.
