Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 03, Verse 16
English:
Evam pravartitam chakram naanuvartayateeha yah
Aghaayur indriyaaraamo mogham paartha sa jeevati
Sanskrit:
एवं प्रवर्तितम् चक्रम् नानुवर्तयतीह यः
अधायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघम् पार्थ स जीवाति
Oriya:
ଏବଂ ପ୍ରବର୍ତିତମ୍ ଚକ୍ରମ୍ ନାନୁବର୍ତୟତୀହ ୟଃ
ଅଧାୟୁରିନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟାରାମୋ ମୋଘମ୍ ପାର୍ଥ ସ ଜୀବତି
Selected word meaning:
evam - thus prescribed, pravartitam - established by the Vedas, chakram - cycle (of life set revolving by the Lord Bramha or Vedic scriptures), na - does not, anuvartayati - adopt, iha - in this life, yah - one who, agha aayuh - living in sin, indriya aaraamah - satisfied in sense gratification, mogham - useless, partha - O son of Prtha (Arjuna), sah - one who does so, jivati - lives
Translation:
O Arjuna, one who in this world does not adopt the cycle of life thus set revolving (by the Lord Bramha or Vedic scriptures), remains engaged in sense gratification, lives a useless and sinful life.
